- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
The property of such corporation shall be subject to taxation, except all houses of public worship, and also all school buildings used exclusively for school purposes and the lot upon which they stand, and the furniture therein, which shall be exempt therefrom.
