Terms Used In Michigan Laws 456.540
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- commissioner: means the director of the department of labor and economic growth or a designee of the director. See Michigan Laws 456.522
- Person: means an individual, group of individuals, sole proprietorship, partnership, limited liability company, association, corporation, government agency, cemetery, or a combination of these legal entities. See Michigan Laws 456.522
Any person aggrieved by the decision of the commissioner rendered under section 19 may appeal to the circuit court as provided in chapter 6 of Act No. 306 of the Public Acts of 1969, as amended, being section 24.301 to 24.306 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
