- Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
- Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
The master or any person interested in such water-craft, so seized as aforesaid may at any time before judgment or decree of sale shall be made as hereinafter provided, apply to the clerk issuing the warrant for a writ of restitution. Said writ shall command the sheriff or other person holding the same to restore such water-craft to the person in whose possession the same was found when seized or his authorized agent and may be served by any person.
