- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
The trial or hearing shall be by the court without a jury, unless a jury be demanded by either party, by filing the demand 5 days before the time for which notice shall have been given, and serving a notice of such demand upon the adverse party.
