Terms Used In Michigan Laws 570.435
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
In case the sum for which the water-craft is sold, is sufficient to pay all the claims filed before sale, with costs thereon, the court may, from time to time, order such claim and costs thereon to be paid, in whole or in part, as decrees may from time to time be rendered; and in case of appeal from any decree, as hereinafter provided, the court may order distribution of such portion of the sum brought on the sale as may seem just and proper.
