- person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
Any proceeding to enforce a recognizance taken, as provided in this act, may be brought in the county where the offense is charged to have been committed, and service of process issued in any such proceeding may be made upon the principal or surety or both anywhere in the state, by any person authorized to serve process issued from a court of record.
