If the court of this state believes that the obligor may flee the jurisdiction, it may:
(a) As an initiating court, request in its certificate that the responding court obtain the body of the obligor by appropriate process.

- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. (b) As a responding court, obtain the body of the obligor by appropriate process. The court may subsequently release the obligor upon the obligor’s own recognizance or upon the obligor’s giving a bond in an amount set by the court to assure the obligor’s appearance at the hearing.
