Subd. 2.Permitted activity.

- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- private self-insurer: includes both current and former members of the self-insurers' security fund; and "private self-insurers' estimated future liability" means the private self-insurers' total of estimated future liability as determined by an Associate or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society every year for group member private self-insurers and, for a nongroup member private self-insurer's authority to self-insure, every year for the first five years. Through data service organizations licensed under chapter 79, self insurers may:
(1) individually, or with self-insurers commonly owned, managed, or controlled, conduct research and collect statistics to investigate, identify, and classify information relating to causes or prevention of losses; and
(2) at the request of a private self-insurer or self-insurer group, submit and collect data, including payroll and loss data; and perform calculations, including calculations of experience modifications of individual self-insured employers.
