Any note, endorsement, guaranty, pledge, hypothecation, lien or other obligation given contrary to the provisions of sections 48.16 to 48.18 shall be null and void.

Terms Used In Minnesota Statutes 48.20

Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
