The indictment shall be direct and certain as it regards:

- Indictment: The formal charge issued by a grand jury stating that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial; it is used primarily for felonies.
(1) the party charged;
(2) the offense charged;
(3) the particular circumstances of the offense charged, when they are necessary to constitute a complete offense.
