Terms Used In Missouri Laws 140.690

  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

Real property is in all cases liable for all taxes due any city or incorporated town, and a lien is created in favor of the state of Missouri for all these taxes, and the interest and costs provided by law, the same as for state and county taxes, which lien shall be enforced as in this chapter provided.
