Terms Used In Missouri Laws 141.640

  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.

Upon the filing of any delinquent tax bill or bills or any list thereof with the collector, as provided in sections 141.210 to 141.810, there shall be imposed and charged on each such tax bill the fee authorized under section 52.290 as an additional penalty and part of the lien thereof to be paid to the collector on all such tax bills collected by him, which fee shall be collected from the party redeeming the parcel of real estate upon which the tax bill is a lien, and shall be accounted for by the collector as other similar penalties are collected by him on delinquent land taxes upon which suit has not been filed, or, if filed, was not filed under the provisions of sections 141.210 to 141.810.
