Terms Used In Missouri Laws 162.780

  • Bequest: Property gifted by will.
  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

The state board of education shall have the care and control of all property, real and personal, necessary for the operation of the Missouri schools for the severely disabled, the school for the blind and the school for the deaf. The state board of education shall not sell or in any manner dispose of any real estate purchased by tax moneys belonging to the schools without an act of the general assembly authorizing the sale or other disposition. The state board of education may sell, convey, exchange or convert into money property of any nature, real, personal or mixed, acquired from individuals or corporations by grant, gift, bequest, devise or donation to these schools or any of them.
