There is hereby created in the state treasury the “Department of Health and Senior Services Administrative and Cost Allocation Fund”. The state treasurer shall be the custodian of the fund and the fund shall be administered by the director of the department of health and senior services. The fund shall be funded annually by appropriations, and deposits and transfers thereto. The fund shall contain moneys transferred or paid to the department in return for goods and services provided internally by the department, or to any governmental entity or the public. The commissioner of administration shall approve disbursements from the fund at the request of the director of the department or the director’s designee in accordance with the appropriations made therefor. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 33.080, moneys in the fund shall not lapse to the credit of general revenue at the end of the biennium. All interest earned on the fund shall be deposited in and credited to the fund.
