Missouri Laws 209.240 – Amount of pension — need, how determined
1. The family support division shall, for the purpose of obtaining federal financial participation in aid to the blind payments, prepare a budget taking into consideration the necessary expenses in accordance with standards developed by the family support division and the income and resources of the individual claiming aid to the blind. In preparing such budget the family support division shall disregard the first eighty-five dollars per month of earned income plus one-half of earned income in excess of eighty-five dollars per month and for a period not in excess of twelve months, such additional amounts of other income and resources, in the case of an individual who has a plan for achieving self-support approved by the family support division, as may be necessary for the fulfillment of such plan. Every person passing the vision test and having the other qualifications provided in this law shall be entitled to receive aid to the blind in the amount of one hundred ten dollars monthly. Any person disqualified to receive aid to the blind may apply for pension to the blind as provided in sections 209.010 to 209.160.
2. If the funds at the disposal or which may be obtained by the family support division for the payment of benefits under this section shall at any time become insufficient to pay the full amount of benefits to each person entitled thereto, the amount of benefits of each one of such persons shall be reduced pro rata in proportion to such deficiency in the total amount available or to become available for such purpose.

3. Medical assistance for aid to the blind recipients shall be payable as provided in sections 208.151 to 208.158 without regard to any durational residence requirement for eligibility.
