1. Not more than ninety percent of the value of the assets of the offender may be used for purposes of securing costs and reimbursement pursuant to the provisions of sections 217.825 to 217.841.
2. The amount of reimbursement sought from an offender shall not be in excess of the per capita cost for care for maintaining offenders in the state correctional center in which the offender is housed for the period or periods such offender is an offender in a state correctional center.

- Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
- Correctional center: any premises or institution where incarceration, evaluation, care, treatment, or rehabilitation is provided to persons who are under the department's authority. See Missouri Laws 217.010
- Offender: a person under supervision or an inmate in the custody of the department. See Missouri Laws 217.010
- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
