Terms Used In Missouri Laws 227.370

  • Caucus: From the Algonquian Indian language, a caucus meant "to meet together." An informal organization of members of the legislature that exists to discuss issues of mutual concern and possibly to perform legislative research and policy planning for its members. There are regional, political or ideological, ethnic, and economic-based caucuses.
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

The portion of Interstate 44 in Phelps County from Route V east to Route 68 shall be designated the “Governor Mel Carnahan Memorial Highway”, in recognition of the former governor’s contributions to the state of Missouri. The department of transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs commemorating this portion of highway. Costs for such designation shall be paid for by the Democrat Freshman Caucus.
