Terms Used In Missouri Laws 246.300

  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

In any levee district formed pursuant to the laws of this state having an assessed valuation of forty million dollars or greater, which is located in whole or in part in a county having over nine hundred thousand in population according to the last decennial census, owners of property in whole or in part within the levee district who are corporate, partnership, joint venture, or any other form of ownership other than individual ownership, may delegate through procedure allowed pursuant to corporate form as provided by the laws of this state an individual to exercise representation and voting on behalf of the corporate entity in matters requiring public vote involving the levee district. For purposes of levee districts organized pursuant to the laws of this state, any individual so recognized by the corporate form as having the responsibilities of representing the corporate landowner before the board of supervisors of the levee district shall in all respects be treated by laws of this state as the owner of the property, and shall be entitled to all benefits and privileges allowed by law, including serving on the board of supervisors if so elected, as are contained in the laws of this state.
