- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The organization of a metropolitan water supply district shall be initiated by a petition filed in the office of the clerk of the circuit court vested with jurisdiction as provided in sections 247.230 to 247.670. The petition shall be signed by one hundred voters of the district.
