- Commission: the conservation commission of Missouri being responsible for the control, management, restoration, conservation, and regulation of the bird, fish, game, forestry, and all wildlife resources of the state isMissouri Laws 254.020

The commission may create such forest districts as it may deem to be appropriate, having due regard for the character and extent of the timber stands, similarity of forest problems, convenience of administration and other pertinent factors. The commission may employ a state forester and such other employees as it deems necessary.
