1. An environmental covenant and any amendment or termination of the covenant shall be recorded in every county or city not within a county in which any portion of the real property subject to the covenant is located. For purposes of indexing, a holder shall be treated as a grantee.
2. Except as otherwise provided in section 260.1024, an environmental covenant is subject to the laws of this state governing recording and priority of interests in real property.

- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
