Missouri Laws 260.209 – Property acquired outside city, county or district for solid waste ..
1. Any district, city or county that acquires real or personal property in another incorporated city or in an unincorporated area of a county, by condemnation, purchase, gift, lease, sale or otherwise to establish, operate, maintain, construct, improve, own, control or regulate waste to energy plants, incinerators, recycling centers, processing plants, composting areas, transfer stations, solid waste processing facilities, solid waste disposal area, treatment facilities, storage facilities, or other management areas, shall be subject to and comply with any and all zoning ordinances of the city in which such acquisition was made or if such acquisition is located within an unincorporated area of a county, then such district, city or county making the acquisition shall be subject to and comply with all zoning requirements and ordinances of the county in which the acquisition was made.
2. After August 28, 1999, no political subdivision shall be granted any permit, license, or grant of authority to own, operate or control any land outside its boundaries and used for any purpose subject to regulation pursuant to sections 260.200 to 260.345 without meeting the zoning requirements of the political subdivision in which the land is located in effect on the date of application.
