1. The governor shall appoint one member and one alternate member to represent Missouri’s interests on the midwest low-level radioactive waste compact commission. Such appointment shall be with the advice and consent of the senate, as provided in § 51 of Article IV of the Constitution of Missouri. The state‘s member on the commission, or the alternate, shall be entitled to reimbursement for expenses necessarily incurred in the discharge of his official duties plus, if not an employee of the state, fifty dollars for each day devoted to the affairs of the commission.
2. Missouri’s member on the commission shall report activities of the commission to the hazardous waste management commission, governor and general assembly as requested.
