- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
The state auditor is authorized to keep such records as may be necessary for the proper performance of his duties; provided, however, that he shall not keep any original records which duplicate the records kept by the commissioner of administration. He shall file, retain, store and destroy those records in accordance with the state and local records law.
