Any person, association, company, corporation or copartnership of persons who shall violate any provisions of section 316.040 shall, on conviction thereof, be adjudged guilty of a misdemeanor, and punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars or less than twenty-five dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not less than ten days nor more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
