Terms Used In Missouri Laws 33.160

  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

In all cases of accounts allowed against the state, and in all cases of grants, salaries, pay and expenses allowed by law, the commissioner of administration shall fill in on a form of warrant the amount due and other necessary information. The form of the warrant thus filled in by the commissioner of administration shall be transmitted with the commissioner of administration’s certification to the state treasurer. Except when payments are authorized by law to be electronically transferred, the warrant shall be in such form that a single instrument shall serve as the warrant and the state treasurer’s draft or check, and shall be so designed that it is a nonnegotiable warrant when signed by the commissioner of administration and becomes a negotiable check or draft after it has been signed by the state treasurer.
