1. If the secretary of state finds that an application for registration conforms to law and all requisite fees have been paid, he shall:
(1) Endorse on each copy of the application the word “Filed”, and the month, day and year of the filing thereof;

- Month: means a calendar month, and "year" means a calendar year unless otherwise expressed, and is equivalent to the words year of our Lord. See Missouri Laws 1.020
- Person: a natural person, partnership, limited partnership (domestic or foreign), domestic or foreign limited liability company, trust, estate, association, or corporation. See Missouri Laws 359.011
- State: a state, territory, or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See Missouri Laws 359.011
(2) File in his office an original of the application; and
(3) Issue a certificate of registration to transact business in this state.
2. The certificate of registration, together with a duplicate original or a copy of the original of the application, shall be returned to the person who filed the application or his representative.
