1. The director shall, as he may deem proper, make careful inquiry and investigation as to the manner in which the money, funds or securities of companies operating under the provisions of sections 380.201 to 380.591 are invested or employed, and record the result of such inquiry or investigation in records kept in his office for the inspection of policyholders and public officials.

2. In the event of a violation of the provisions of section 380.391, the prosecuting attorney of the proper county, or the attorney general of this state shall proceed at once by information or indictment against the offenders.

  • Director: the director of the department of commerce and insurance. See Missouri Laws 380.005
  • Indictment: The formal charge issued by a grand jury stating that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial; it is used primarily for felonies.
