Terms Used In Missouri Laws 404.870

  • Power of attorney: A written instrument which authorizes one person to act as another's agent or attorney. The power of attorney may be for a definite, specific act, or it may be general in nature. The terms of the written power of attorney may specify when it will expire. If not, the power of attorney usually expires when the person granting it dies. Source: OCC

Nothing in sections 404.710 to 404.865 shall be construed to authorize, approve or condone discrimination against the handicapped or the disabled in the exercise of the authority of a durable power of attorney for health care. Decisions based on factors listed in section 404.822 shall not be considered discriminatory.
