1. There is hereby established in the state treasury the “Missouri Veterans’ Homes Fund”. All moneys received by the Missouri veterans’ homes or any officer thereof from any source whatsoever shall be transmitted promptly to the director of revenue by the commission for deposit in the state treasury to the credit of the Missouri veterans’ homes fund, which fund and all interest earned shall be maintained solely for the use of the Missouri veterans’ homes. All interest earned from deposit of money in the Missouri veterans’ homes fund shall be deposited to the credit of the Missouri veterans’ homes fund and shall not be credited to general revenue.

2. The unexpended balance in the Missouri veterans’ homes fund at the end of the biennium shall not be transferred to the ordinary revenue fund of the state treasury and shall be exempt from the provisions of section 33.080 relating to transfer of funds to the ordinary revenue funds of the state by the state treasurer.
