  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • following: when used by way of reference to any section of the statutes, mean the section next preceding or next following that in which the reference is made, unless some other section is expressly designated in the reference. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020

If an owner does not regain possession of the property in the one-year period following entry of an order granting temporary possession of the property to the organization, the organization may file a petition for judicial deed and, upon due notice to the named defendants, an order may be entered granting a quitclaim judicial deed to the organization. A conveyance by judicial deed shall operate to extinguish all existing ownership interests in, liens on, and other interest in the property, except tax liens. Any party in interest of the property shall present any claim for compensation prior to the entering of the court order conveying title to the organization.
