  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

Each judge shall, within thirty days after the receipt of his commission, and before entering upon the duties of his office, take the oath prescribed by the constitution of this state. A certificate of having taken such oath shall be endorsed upon his commission.
