Under the Missouri Laws, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:Class | Prison | Fine |

Class B misdemeanor | up to 6 months | up to $1,000 |
Any county commissioner who shall violate any of the provisions of section 49.140 or who shall do any of the acts or enter into any of the contracts prohibited or declared unlawful in said section, shall be guilty of a class B misdemeanor.
