When the prosecuting attorney, of any county of the second class, shall file with the county commission, the approval of the circuit judges of the county of the appointment of an assistant prosecuting attorney, as herein provided, it shall be the duty of the county commission to commission such assistant as other officers are commissioned by such commission.
