1. Any aggrieved person may appeal any decision of any state inspector to the chief safety inspector of the state. Any appeal of a decision of the chief safety inspector shall be taken as provided in chapter 536.

2. Any person aggrieved by a decision of a municipal inspector may appeal such decision to the municipality in accordance with municipal ordinances.

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
