- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
The city treasurer shall perform such duties as are, or may be, required of him by the general laws of this state, and such duties as are, or may be, required of him by any ordinance or ordinances of any such city not inconsistent or in conflict with any such general law.
