Terms Used In Missouri Laws 82.640

  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • United States: includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

The deputy collectors shall, before taking office, take and subscribe an oath or affirmation to support the constitutions of the United States and of the state of Missouri, and to demean themselves faithfully in office; and, each of said designated deputy collectors shall be required to give bond and security to the state of Missouri, in the amount required by and to the satisfaction of and to be approved by the collector, in a sum not to exceed two thousand five hundred dollars each, conditioned that he will faithfully account for all moneys coming into his hands as such deputy collector, all of which said bonds shall be deposited and remain in the office of the city register of such city.
