Terms Used In Missouri Laws 99.1054

  • following: when used by way of reference to any section of the statutes, mean the section next preceding or next following that in which the reference is made, unless some other section is expressly designated in the reference. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.

In each of the twenty-five calendar years following the adoption of an ordinance adopting development financing for a development project area, unless and until development financing for such development project area is terminated by ordinance of the municipality, then, in respect to every taxing district containing such development project area, the county clerk, or any other official required by law to ascertain the amount of the equalized assessed value of all taxable property within such development project area for the purpose of computing any debt service levies to be extended upon taxable property within such development project area, shall in every year that development financing is in effect ascertain the amount of value of taxable property in such development project area by including in such amount the certified total initial equalized assessed value of all taxable real property in such development project area in lieu of the equalized assessed value of all taxable real property in such development project area. For the purpose of measuring the size of payments in lieu of taxes under sections 99.1000 to 99.1060, all tax levies shall then be extended to the current equalized assessed value of all property in the development project area in the same manner as the tax rate percentage is extended to all other taxable property in the taxing district.
