15-70-131. Securing access to federal expenditures to repair Montana roads and bridges. (1) There is a securing access to federal expenditures to repair Montana roads and bridges account in the state special revenue fund provided for in 17-2-102.

Terms Used In Montana Code 15-70-131

  • Department: means the department of transportation as provided for in 2-15-2501. See Montana Code 15-70-112
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201

(2)Funds in this account are statutorily appropriated, as provided in 17-7-502, to the department of transportation for:

(a)providing state match for additional federal funds allocated to the department through federal redistribution; and

(b)providing state match for discretionary grants awarded to the department.

(3)(a) Total expenditures for state match authorized under this section may not exceed $15 million in a fiscal year.

(b)Expenditures made pursuant to this section must be for construction and reconstruction prioritized by the transportation commission pursuant to 60-2-110.
