32-2-804. Department investigation. (1) The department may gather all available information relative to an application. The department may also make, or cause to be made, any investigations of any individual associated with the applicant as may be warranted under the circumstances, including a full background check and credit check.

- Department: means the department of administration provided for in 2-15-1001. See Montana Code 32-2-603
- Discovery: Lawyers' examination, before trial, of facts and documents in possession of the opponents to help the lawyers prepare for trial.
(2)The department may use any administrative procedure necessary, including the taking of depositions, discovery, subpoenas, and the production of documents, to investigate an application. The Montana Administrative Procedure Act applies.
