35-14-301. Purposes. (1) Every corporation incorporated under this chapter has the purpose of engaging in any lawful business unless a more limited purpose is set forth in the articles of incorporation.
Terms Used In Montana Code 35-14-301
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
(2)A corporation engaging in a business that is subject to regulation under another statute of this state may incorporate under this chapter only if permitted by and subject to all limitations of the other statute.
