52-3-203. Purpose. To ensure that vulnerable adults in the state are afforded the opportunity to receive protective services and to implement certain provisions of the federal government’s Title XX, Social Services Amendments of 1972, the legislature declares that the department is the public agency responsible for providing protective services.
Terms Used In Montana Code 52-3-203
- Department: means the department of public health and human services provided for in 2-15-2201. See Montana Code 52-3-202
- Protective services: means emergency services that are provided in a coordinated effort by the department to a vulnerable adult in order to prevent or terminate the abuse, neglect, exploitation, intimidation, or abandonment of the vulnerable adult. See Montana Code 52-3-202
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
