61-6-112. Surrender of license. A person whose license has been suspended, whose policy of insurance or bond, when required under this part, has been canceled or terminated, or who neglects to furnish other proof upon request of the department shall immediately return the person’s license to the department. If a licensee fails to return to the department the license as required by this section, then a peace officer may seize the license during an investigative stop or arrest and return the license to the department.

- Department: means the department of justice acting directly or through its duly authorized officers or agents. See Montana Code 61-1-101
- License: means a driver's license as defined in 61-1-101. See Montana Code 61-6-102
- Peace officer: has the meaning as defined in 46-1-202. See Montana Code 1-1-207
- Person: means every natural person, firm, partnership, association, or corporation. See Montana Code 61-6-102
