69-8-601. Legislative findings. The legislature finds that it is in the public interest to promote net metering because it:

- Net metering: means measuring the difference between the electricity distributed to and the electricity generated by a customer-generator that is fed back to the distribution system during the applicable billing period. See Montana Code 69-8-103
(1)encourages private investment in renewable energy resources;
(2)stimulates Montana’s economic growth; and
(3)enhances the continued diversification of the energy resources used in Montana.
