72-5-612. Exclusive basis. Sections 72-5-611 through 72-5-619 provide the exclusive jurisdictional basis for a court of this state to appoint a guardian or issue a protective order for an adult.
Terms Used In Montana Code 72-5-612
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
