87-1-628. Hunters against hunger account. (1) There is a hunters against hunger account in the state special revenue fund established by 17-2-102. Funds deposited into this account must be used by the department for the purposes of 87-1-293.

Terms Used In Montana Code 87-1-628

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201

(2)The following money must be deposited into the account:

(a)donations received pursuant to 87-1-293;

(b)interest earned on the account; and

(c)money received by the department in the form of gifts or grants or from any source intended to be used for the purposes of 87-1-293.

(3)Any money in the account that is unspent or unencumbered at the end of a fiscal year must remain in the account.
