- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Finance charge: The total cost of credit a customer must pay on a consumer loan, including interest. The Truth in Lending Act requires disclosure of the finance charge. Source: OCC
- Insurance premium finance company: means a person engaged in the business of entering into premium finance agreements with insureds or of acquiring such premium finance agreements from insurance producers, brokers, or other premium finance companies. See Montana Code 33-14-102
- Mortgagee: The person to whom property is mortgaged and who has loaned the money.
- Open-end credit: A credit agreement (typically a credit card) that allows a customer to borrow against a preapproved credit line when purchasing goods and services. The borrower is only billed for the amount that is actually borrowed plus any interest due. (Also called a charge account or revolving credit.) Source: OCC
- Person: includes a corporation or other entity as well as a natural person. See Montana Code 1-1-201
- Power of attorney: A written instrument which authorizes one person to act as another's agent or attorney. The power of attorney may be for a definite, specific act, or it may be general in nature. The terms of the written power of attorney may specify when it will expire. If not, the power of attorney usually expires when the person granting it dies. Source: OCC
- Premium finance agreement: means an agreement by which an insured or prospective insured promises to pay to a premium finance company the amount advanced or to be advanced under the agreement to an insurer or to an insurance producer or broker in payment of premiums on an insurance contract, together with a finance charge as authorized by this chapter, and as security therefor the insurance premium finance company receives an assignment of the unearned premium. - Process: means a writ or summons issued in the course of judicial proceedings. See Montana Code 1-1-202
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
- Writing: includes printing. See Montana Code 1-1-203
