Terms Used In Montana Code > Title 52 > Chapter 8 - Licensing of Child Placement Agency
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Municipality: means any incorporated city or town. See Montana Code 7-2-4704
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- Person: includes any individual, partnership, voluntary association, or corporation. See Montana Code 52-8-101
- Placement activities: means any of the following:
(a)placement of a child for adoption or foster care;
(b)arranging or providing short-term foster care for a child pending an adoptive placement; or
(c)facilitating placement of a child by maintaining a list in any form of birth parents or prospective adoptive or foster parents. See Montana Code 52-8-101
- Several: means two or more. See Montana Code 1-1-201
