Terms Used In Montana Code > Title 80 > Chapter 6 > Part 11 - Alfalfa Leaf-Cutting Bees

  • Bee: means any stage in the life cycle of a bee of the species Megachile rotundata (F), commonly known as the alfalfa leaf-cutting bee. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Certification: means the process of analyzing bees and equipment by the committee to determine whether they meet required standards. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Committee: means the Montana alfalfa seed committee established in 2-15-3004. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Department: means the department of agriculture established in 2-15-3001. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Equipment: means shelters, trays, incubators, cell removers, tumblers, and other apparatus, except nesting materials, used in rearing bees. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Nesting materials: means laminates, drilled boards, and other apparatus used in nesting bees. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Person: means an individual, association, partnership, or corporation. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Process: means a writ or summons issued in the course of judicial proceedings. See Montana Code 1-1-202
  • Property: means real and personal property. See Montana Code 1-1-205
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
  • Wild trap: means to intentionally trap bees on property not owned or leased by the trapper. See Montana Code 80-6-1102
  • Writing: includes printing. See Montana Code 1-1-203
