No person shall operate a vessel on any waters of this state for towing a person or persons on water skis, surfboard, or similar device unless there is in such vessel a person, in addition to the operator, in a position to observe the progress of the person or persons being towed, except that this section shall not apply to any motorboat equipped with a wide-angle, rearview mirror.
Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 37-1258
- Motorboat: shall mean any watercraft propelled in any respect by machinery, including watercraft temporarily equipped with detachable motors, but shall not include a vessel which has a valid marine document issued by the Bureau of Customs of the United States Government or any federal agency successor thereto. - Operate: shall mean to navigate or otherwise use a motorboat or vessel. See Nebraska Statutes 37-1208
- Person: shall mean an individual, partnership, limited liability company, firm, corporation, association, or other entity. See Nebraska Statutes 37-1207
- Vessel: shall mean every description of watercraft, other than a seaplane on the water, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on water. See Nebraska Statutes 37-1203
- Waters of this state: shall mean any waters within the territorial limits of Nebraska. See Nebraska Statutes 37-1206
